On behalf of all the Members of the St. Mary at Finchley Lodge No: 5417 I welcome you to our website. We aim to tell you about Masonry itself, its history and its philosophy, what it stands for, and how we practise it. We operate under the Constitutions of The United Grand Lodge of England and The Metropolitan Grand Lodge of London and as such we share “Three Grand Principles” of Faith, Hope and Charity.
there is much to read here and much to learn

The website tells you what a man needs to know if he is interested in becoming a member, and therefore what his wife or partner also should know – her approval of his decision to join is very important to us.

If you are not a Freemason and would like to learn more about this society of ours and how to become a member, our Lodge Secretary can be contacted through this website and would be very happy to send you more details.   You can discover where and when we meet and who are the Officers of the Lodge for the current year. Also included is a diary of events (
Calendar) – although many of these are for our Members and their guests, it will include open days at our Masonic Centre (and other Masonic events of interest elsewhere), at which you are more than welcome to visit us, to see where we meet and find answers to your questions.   You will perhaps be surprised at how much we can tell you, and how wrong people are when they say we are a secret society! We will tell you about our charitable giving – many members of the public have no idea just how huge is the amount that Freemasons donate to charities and just how great is the proportion of this donated to non-Masonic charities and good causes.

There is much to read here, and much to learn, whether you are already a Freemason or merely have an interest in the subject. I hope it helps you to understand more about us and our organisation, and that it will dispel all the misapprehensions and misleading information you may have heard about us!

Worshipful Master

Can I welcome you to our Lodge Website and hope that you enjoy your visit and will check occasionally for updates.

If ever you would like to visit our Lodge that meets at Freemasons Hall in London, please contact our
